Transportation has always been an essential component of the integrated plants of ACME Steel. Separated by both distance and water, ACME's three plants relied on both standard means, such as railway cars and ships, and innovative means, such as conveyor belts on Chicago's only suspension bridge (now demolished), to move raw and interim materials between plants.
