 From Local 65 photo collection - "51" Beam Mill's delivery on-time performance for the week ending 1/23/74 was 98% to lead the plant. Recognized for this fine performance is the 52" mill crew shown being congratulated by Vic Lindberg, Assistant General Superintendent. Pictured, back row left to right: V. L. Lindberg, Glen Pierce, Rudy Quanstrom, Jim Johnson, Blaine Burr and Henry Poindexter. U. S. Steel - Alloy Bar Department

 From Local 65 photo collection: "During the week ending October 20, 1973, the top QW=DOT position at South Works was held by the Alloy Bar Department whose combined efforts reached a fine 100% performance. Cited for their part in this performance is the Finishing End Team and some of its members with Asst. Gen. Supt. Vic Lindberg."

U. S. Steel - QW=DOT Award

 c1970s. From Local 65 photo collection. "The winner of the QW=DOT Customer Order Promise Performance Plaque for the week ending June 3 was the 52" Beam Mill with 99 per cent. Shown with the plaque if the foreground are 52" mill officials and in the background, behind the QW=DOT sign, are the 52" structural Finishing Dept. 'A' turn crews."

U. S. Steel - South Works Employees

 From Local 65 photo collection. Employee, James F. Schmidt (left), explains to D. P. Rantz, foreman - blast furnaces, the idea which earned him a $664 suggestion award. Schmidt suggested redesign of a burner to expedite drying out of relined and repaired hot medal ladles. He is a pipefitter.
