Beman - John A. Jackman, Jr. Double Residence, 1884

Color photograph of double house at 5832-5834 S. Harper, Chicago. John Jackman was a manager at the Pullman Company when he commissioned Beman to build several houses in the Hyde Park development known as Rosalie Terrace. These clapboard houses share a chimney highlighted with terra cotta tiles and decorative wooden cutwork as well as many original porch details. "Solon S. Beman:Architecture in Illinois" exhibit.
