Title | Beman - William Burnett Residences, 1885 |
Description | Color photographs of Burnett residences located at 635-639 E. Oakwood Boulevard, Chicago. Originally William Burnett asked Solon Beman to design four residences for him on this property. Today, three still exist in varying states of repair. In 2006 639 E. Oakwood was undergoing work. At this time its original porch, dormer, and windows have all been changed. 637 E. Oakwood has also undergone changes lost most of its original features; only the dormer shape and window/door openings seem original. 635 E. Oakwood still retains most of its original details with an original front door, porch brackets, bay window details and dormer roofline showing Beman's intent. "Solon S. Beman: Architecture in Illinois" exhibit. |
